Lower cost, quality and choice is a major goal. Obama also says that health care reform can not add to the nations budget deficit.
The President makes clear that as Congress works through health care reform legislation, it must include fundamental changes that lower costs, ensure Americans have choices, and establish access to quality, affordable health care for all Americans. "But what we can’t welcome," the President says, "is reform that just invests more money in the status quot reform that throws good money after bad habits."

Presidents Obama used this weekly address to boast Sonia Sotomayor's nomination. The president spoke about how Sotomayor overcame hurtles in her life
including losing her father at a young age and being raised by a single mother.

Obama went on speaking about how Sotomayor's was nominated to The US District Court by George Bush one. The fact that she was put on the District Court by
a republican President has been a repeated theme since Obama first announced his choice for nominee. Most likely to gain support from Republicans.

perponents went digging for ammo arguing against Sotomayor. Judge Sotomayor has been confirmed twice and has over 17 years of experience.

As congress returns the President asked for a quick confirmation so the new Judge can be seated before the next time the court meets and schedules the cases for the year.

Editorial: I'm getting tired of hearing about diversity and other so called credentials of the people Obama has been placing on his staff and nomination for positions like Supreme Court Justice. 80% of Americans overcome some kind of obsticles in life. Knowone has it easy in life.

IMO A decision like placing someone in a position of Supreme Court Judge should not be made on these merets. The record and only the record should be used. Who is anyone to say someone raised by a single mother is anymore qualified than someone raised by a middle class family.

It is a little concerning that Mr Obama expects the rest of government to jump when he wants something.
