For almost a month now health care has been part of the weekly address from the White House. The President discusses a key factor that has been considered in the development of the health insurance reform proposals that are being considered: the impact of reform on small business.
The White House Council of Economic Advisers released a report on the Health Care subject in conjunction with this address.

President Barack Obama speaks about the agreement to lower drug costs for seniors.On June 22, 2009 President Barack Obama announced a landmark agreement with pharmaceutical companies, who pledged $80 billion in prescription drug discounts over the next 10 years. This compromise is the latest step towards a new consensus amongst health care stakeholders to help reduce costs and provide quality care for all Americans.
Older Americans are suffering the most in the down economy and need relief from high drug costs.

The President has long said that skyrocketing health care costs will be disastrous in terms of the long term national debt unless we pass health care reform. In this Weekly Address, the President also explains how he will cover the upfront costs of reform by eliminating over payments from Medicaid and Medicare and driving down costs contributing to government’s health care expenditures across the board.
We have a responsibility now. The President is moving forward on health reform.
He announce 113 billion dollars in saving. Changes will come with common sense changes to what is already in place.
