June 1, 2009 marked a change in the American auto industry. For years the auto makers and the unions have shown they will demand entitlement for themselves. Just enough wasn't enough for all parties involved. The failure of company executives to see into the future and union leaders to be realistic in its demands are probably the two biggest reason we come to this day. GM and all American car builders failed to see the need for auto's that are Eco friendly that will help America ween itself off foreign oil and unions asking for compensation that they knew could not be sustained forever.
June 1, marks the end of entitlement for the car makers and their unions. Their greed has pushed the American auto industry over the edge to the point of no return. The fact that GM has officially declared bankruptcy is all the proof we need of what happened here.
The American auto industry must move forward. With help from The US Recovery Act, other governments and sacrifice from unions the industry can move forward and recover.
The auto industry in America was the spine of the industrial revolution. From Henry Fords assembally line to every small inventor the auto industry has played a part in history that can't be denied. With everyone pulling together to do things like "Buy American" we can get through this and have a vibrant auto industry in the US and leading the way in Eco friendly tranportation that will help America grow, not increase our dependancy on other governments.
This was another exceptionally busy week around the White House. Credit Card Reform to NFL Players. Barack Obama was on the move as usual.
President Obama took a moment Thursday, May 21. 2009 to welcome the Superbowl Champions Pittsburgh Steelers to the White House, along with approximately 50 Wounded Warriors from Walter Reed Army Medical Center and National Naval Medical Center and their families. Afterwards they all joined up to work with USO to assemble 3,000 care packages for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan
Commencements are happening all across the country, but ones for military grads are special. These you men and women will be protecting America by serving.
Finally someone is knocking the credit card companies down a notch. It can be difficult to think of an issue that touches more people, or can get a rise out of more people, than credit card fine print, fees, and staggering interest rate hikes. For some it is an irritation, for people who have already hit a rough patch, it can become a brutal weight to carry having credit card debt.
Sorry for the delayed postings. As much as I try to post daily about President Obama we encountered a small problem with twitter. For some reason they think we did something wrong with the way our followers have been handled. Excessive churn they called it. Anyway the twitter account for this site was suspended. I was in shock and was debating if the site could even exist without the twitter following. Twitter was the inspiration to begin with
I have tried communicating with twitter and the response was that the account would be subject to a one week suspension. That's cool I guess, but now it as been brought to my attention that we will no longer be in the twitter search function. Its a after shock of the suspension.
So this puts us in a conundrum. We can give up or carry on. Carry on is what Obama would do, so that's what we will do. Hopefully I can solicit you to help by re-tweeting this post. Maybe twitter will listen and give us back the privilege of posting on their site.
Thanks everyone and all of this weeks White House activities will be posted immediately.
