The American Cemetery in Normandy France is a place any person who loves freedom should visit. Against impossible odds America and her Allies stormed the beaches and drove the invading Germans back.
As soldier landed on the Normandy beaches they where mowed down by German forces by the hundreds. A true killing field that touches our thoughts almost 60 years later.
The thought of what the Germans did in WW 2 saddens people. The idea that people could do such terrible thing to another person is hard to think of this day in age.
Though the death camps are closed and Europe is free the world still has leaders that would take the same path if not kept in check.
It is a sad legacy for the human species to see government in a modern age behaving as though they are still in the middle ages. Jailing and killing your own citizens in the name of religion has no place in the modern world.
