Like most Americans on the east coast I awoke to Barack Obama speaking in Egypt.  Obama spoke of tolerance of others beliefs and religion.

The President also spook directly at Iran and declared that Israel is not going away. We should all realize this and move forward not dwell in the past.

I must say this is like using reverse psychology on a child. He takes whomever is watching by the hand and explains why you can't abuse a people because of religion, sex, background or beliefs. The treatment and a woman's freedom was also a topic Obama covers in this speech.

The audiance (mostly students) seemed to like Barack Obama as the applause was numerous. Obama is a great speaker and is more of a teacher who can get through to people. With a new youthful generation of middle easterners coming to power we can hope that the regoin can learn to live together.

June 1, 2009 marked a change in the American auto industry. For years the auto makers and the unions have shown they will demand entitlement for themselves. Just enough wasn't enough for all parties involved. The failure of company executives to see into the future and union leaders to be realistic in its demands are probably the two biggest reason we come to this day. GM and all American car builders failed to see the need for auto's that are Eco friendly that will help America ween itself off foreign oil and unions asking for compensation that they knew could not be sustained forever.

June 1, marks the end of entitlement for the car makers and their unions. Their greed has pushed the American auto industry over the edge to the point of no return. The fact that GM has officially declared bankruptcy is all the proof we need of what happened here.

The American auto industry must move forward. With help from The US Recovery Act, other governments and sacrifice from unions the industry can move forward and recover.

The auto industry in America was the spine of the industrial revolution. From Henry Fords assembally line to every small inventor the auto industry has played a part in history that can't be denied. With everyone pulling together to do things like "Buy American" we can get through this and have a vibrant auto industry in the US and leading the way in Eco friendly tranportation that will help America grow, not increase our dependancy on other governments.

Friday May 29, 2009 Internet and Cyber security was the topic. President Obama announced the forming of a Cyber Czar Office. A Cyber Security  report was also discussed by some of the countries leading experts in Internet security. The expert all agree that not just government take on the issue but, companies and citizens that have been undertaking the issue on a private level are included in securing Americans from crimes the Internet has created as part of its natural growth

Melissa Hathaway, Cybersecurity Chief at the National Security Council
The globally-interconnected digital information and communications infrastructure known as cyberspace underpins almost every facet of modern society and provides critical support for the U.S. economy, civil infrastructure, public safety and national security.  The United States is one of the global leaders on embedding technology into our daily lives and this technology adoption has transformed the global economy and connected people in ways never imagined.  My boys are 8 and 9 and use the Internet daily to do homework, blog with their friends and teacher, and email their mom; it is second nature to them.  My mom and dad can read the newspapers about their daughter on-line and can reach me anywhere in the world from their cell phone to mine.  And people all over the world can post and watch videos and read our blogs within minutes of completion.  I can’t imagine my world without this connectivity and I would bet that you cannot either.   Now consider that the same networks that provide this connectively also increasingly help control our critical infrastructure.  These networks deliver power and water to our households and businesses, they enable us to access our bank accounts from almost any city in the world, and they are transforming the way our doctors provide healthcare.  For all of these reasons, we need a safe Internet with a strong network infrastructure and we as a nation need to take prompt action to protect cyberspace for what we use it for today and will need in the future.

June marks the beginning of the Hurricane season in the US. It is also Hurricane Preparadness Week. The President went to a meeing with FEMA officials. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano said preparing for disasters is one of the highest priorities of Homeland Security.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano and FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate briefed the President on preparedness efforts and the seasonal forecast for the 2009 hurricane season. Fugate echoed the President’s statements about the importance of preparation before a hurricane strike.

If you live within 100 miles of a coastal area now is the time to prepare. Know where the shelters are in your area. Get supplies, find out how high your home is above sea level. Call your insurance agent and check you policy for flood insurance. Basiclly take steps now and be prepared.

May 29th another update from the special counsel Norm Eisen. The following is a brief out take of what he had to say. "I am writing with an update on the President’s March 20, 2009 Memorandum on Ensuring Responsible Spending of Recovery Act Funds. Section 3 of the Memorandum required all oral communications between federally registered lobbyists and government officials concerning Recovery Act policy to be disclosed on the Internet; barred registered lobbyists from having oral communications with government officials about specific Recovery Act projects or applications and instead required those communications to be in writing; and also required those written communications to be posted on the Internet.  That Memorandum instructed the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to review the initial 60 days of implementation of the stimulus lobbying restrictions, to evaluate the data, and to recommend modifications."

We would like to thank you for stopping by our site. We understand that you can find this information all over the Internet. When this site was just a concept their was no White House  Blog to speak of. Ourgoal is to bring a historical record and editorials to you. Not simply what the administration has to say.

Some would say why use this site when the White House website has all this information? Well I would say, you are only getting one view of whats happening in government. Even though President Obama has promised transparency the White House site is still run by government.
